On The Radio - Meet The Host

WHEN RADIO WAS WITH JEFFREY LYONS
Jeffrey Lyons
Jeffrey Lyons is an entertainment guru. He is a well-known theater and film critic, radio host and published author. Since 1996, Lyons has been a member of the Channel 4-news team in New York City reporting on the ever-changing world of entertainment. Lyons also had a memorable stint as co-host of the long-running PBS series "Sneak Previews" from 1982-1996. He was the entertainment editor for CNBC and a contributing editor for Inside Edition and A&E Review. Lyons has served as the film critic for television stations WPIX TV/New York, WFSB TV/Hartford and WMAR TV/Baltimore. He has also been the host of numerous radio programs, including the "Lyons Den" on 200 Mutual Radio stations and CBC Radio, Canada.

He wrote Jeffrey Lyons' 101 Great Movies for Kids and, with his brother, co-authored Out of Leftfield: Over 1,134 Newly Discovered Amazing Baseball Records, Connections, Coincidences and More. Lyons has been the film critic for Video Review and Rock magazines and served on the Metropolitan Desk for the New York Times.

This critic has also taken a stab at acting with roles in "The French Connection" and "Deathtrap" as well as on the television series "Wiseguy." In fact, Lyons studied acting with Lee Strasberg and attended the Julliard School of Music. He also has trained with the New York Giants and has been a guest announcer for the Boston Sox Radio Network.
