UNFROTUNATELY, THIS ITEM IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.Famed Hollywood director Frank Capra did his bit for the war effort with many inspiring documentaries, including Know Your Enemy: Japan (tracing the rise of its militarism and aggression); The Battle of China (Japan's invasion and the heroic Chinese resistance); and Two Down and One to Go (with Italy and Germany defeated, only the Japanese kept the dreadful carnage from being over). John Ford also pitched in with the color feature The Battle of Midway, December 7th (the attack on Pearl Harbor), and the cautionary short Sex Hygiene. All of these films are included in this 3-DVD collection, and have been digitally mastered with enhanced audio. The DVDs are cased in a replica film can.
BONUS: The big bands and their star vocalists are on parade in the bonus CD, which includes such hits of the era as the Andrews Sisters' "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," Mildred Bailey and the Delta Rhythm Boys' "When That Man Is Dead and Gone," Bing Crosby's "The Road to Victory," Kay Kyser's "Tell It to the Marines," and a Bob Hope broadcast to the U.S. Navy.
