The idealistic home life of "America’s favorite young couple" and their two sons kept radio listeners chuckling and feeling good from 1944 to 1954. Father and bandleader Ozzie Nelson got the family going with his crazy notions and constant miscalculations. His patient and understanding wife, the famous vocalist Harriet Hilliard, always found a way to set things straight. Their boys, David and Ricky, grew up on the show and became teenage heartthrobs. In 1952, the Nelson family moved to television where they continued to charm audiences for another fourteen years.
